About this Location

USO Northwest supports America’s military service members and their families throughout the states of Washington and Oregon, across over 164,000 square miles. USO Northwest operates two travel-based centers at Sea-Tac International Airport and Portland International Airport, along with two installation-based centers on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, the Shali USO Center and Camp Lewis USO Center. Three USO Mobile Canteens expand our service delivery by offering the military and their families the same best-in-class support we provide at stationary centers, but in the field during trainings, pierside for deployments and homecomings, and throughout military and civilian locations in the Pacific Northwest.

USO Northwest adapted its mission to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite temporarily suspending operations at our centers, we continued to support military service members and their families stationed throughout the region with entertainment, USO2GO kits that included everything from electronics to gaming and music equipment, toiletries, snacks, and other necessities to help keep them relaxed and revitalized. The USO Northwest Mobile units made daily distributions in support of the military bases throughout the Northwest including trips to Naval Base Kitsap and the USS Nimitz. As COVID-19 continued throughout the year, USO Northwest’s Helping Hands Program ensured various programs to continue to lift the spirits of our troops and military families.

“Thank you so much for all that the USO does for families, especially during this very interesting time we live in... We moved here a year ago, ahead of my husband. We knew no one and could not live in military housing due to our dog, so we felt very isolated. It felt very lonely before we started coming to the USO. Thank you for being there for us, especially during that difficult transition. We really appreciate all that you do to support families!"
