Ways to Support

Give back to the service members who protect us every day.

USO donors and partners provide critical support that improves the daily lives of service members and their families. We’re not a government agency. We rely on supporters like you to fund the programs that make the biggest difference for those who serve.

1. Become a USO Volunteer

There are countless ways volunteers support the USO, but they are all unified in their dedication to our service members and their families. Whether it’s helping at a special event, greeting and cheering at homecomings, working the front desk or providing a listening ear, our volunteers are the reason service members know they can count on the USO. Become a Force Behind the Forces® today!

2. Individual Contributions

Your donations make it possible for the USO to support service members and their families. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, your donation ensures the USO is always by their side. Make an Individual Contribution

3. Corporate Partnerships

Corporate America has always played an enormous role in the success of the USO. Companies that partner with the USO find it a rich and rewarding experience, one that benefits not just the corporation and the USO but, even more important, our service members and their families. With input from our partners, we have developed different ways we can work together to strengthen our military by keeping them connected to family, home and country: Cause-Related Marketing, Employee Engagement, Corporate Foundation, Sponsorship of a Program or Event, In-Kind Support, and Media Partnerships. Learn more about Corporate Partnerships, contact USO West Region VP of Development & Communications, Charissa Gonzales at cgonzales@uso.org.

4. Planned Giving

Make a difference at the USO with an estate gift. You can trust that our experts will work to find the best options for you to leave a legacy and support our important work. You can also use our online will-writing tool to create a free will and easily complete a legacy gift to the USO. Learn about Planned Giving.

5. Wire or Stock Transfer

You can support our service members through a wire or stock transfer. Funds from all of our donations lead to expanding offerings at USO Centers, connecting families separated during the holidays, and even provide assistance as service members transition home. Donating stock is easier than ever with our free online tool.

6. IRA Charitable Rollovers

If you are 70 ½ years old or older, you can benefit the USO and receive tax benefits in return. You can give any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA without having to pay income taxes on the money. It’s a powerful way to maximize your savings while you maximize your impact. Learn more about giving from your IRA.

7. Start a Facebook Fundraiser

Make your birthday, wedding or any other day even more meaningful by using it to support our troops around the world. Creating a Facebook fundraiser is a simple and effective way to support our service men and women serving every day. To create a Facebook fundraiser for the USO, please click here.

8. Host a USO Fundraiser

You can even host your own fundraiser for the USO. Through your dedication, you’re supporting programs and services at our more than 180 locations worldwide that help connect our service members to the people, places and things they love.

Before you begin planning your fundraiser, download our USO Fundraising Guidelines. Then, go to crowdrise.com/theUSO and select “Fundraise for the USO,” and you will be on your way to being a part of USO’s history of supporting service members and their families.

9. Support Our Service Members Through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)

Federal employees can donate to the nonprofits of their choice through the annual Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) - Designate #11381. Show your support of America’s service members and military families by designating the USO as a recipient of your CFC contribution. Your donations help us to provide critical support to those who need us most, including forward-deployed service members, military families, wounded, ill and injured troops, families of the fallen and troops in transition.

The USO is happy to participate in your campaign kickoffs or other CFC events. Please contact us at cfc@uso.org about participating.
