About this Location

At the end of 2021, the USO established a permanent presence in the State of Utah with its first two new centers at Salt Lake City (SLC) International Airport and at the SLC Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).

The new USO center at SLC became a nexus for USO programs and services, providing outreach to the 32,480 active duty and reserve members of the armed forces and their families who call Utah home. In addition to center amenities at both locations, USO Utah delivers support to the five military bases across the state through a variety of programming such as meal deliveries, unit family days, military kids camps, sports entertainment, game nights, holiday programs, the Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program, USO Transitions and more.

In our first few months of service, we began to build a network of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about giving back to our military service members and their families, at our centers, and in the community.

By December of 2021, 23 volunteers generously donated 153 hours of their time, to help create a “home away from home” for our nation’s heroes during the holidays. Their combined efforts delivered 4,222 service instances across the State of Utah.

In 2022, we aim to recruit more patriotic individuals who desire to give back to our service members and the military families who have already given so much to our country.

“Thank you so much for all that the USO does for families, especially during this very interesting time we live in... We moved here a year ago, ahead of my husband. We knew no one and could not live in military housing due to our dog, so we felt very isolated. It felt very lonely before we started coming to the USO. Thank you for being there for us, especially during that difficult transition. We really appreciate all that you do to support families!"
